Author Spotlight ~ Peyton Elizabeth

Peyton Elizabeth

The First Order [Safeword LLC 1]

Becca Schuler has always fantasized about bondage, but does that really make her depraved? According to an ex-boyfriend, it does.
After losing her job, and with no way to pay her rent, Becca hits a local bar to drown her sorrows. The last thing she expects is to meet a mysterious woman who assures that she can make Becca’s dream a reality. Is there really a company called Safeword LLC that places submissive women with dominant men per their preferences on a simple application?
Knowing she has nothing to lose, Becca fills out the form on www.safewordllc.com. Her placement lands her in the sensual and strict hands of Lane and Ross Ellison, who train her to be their ideal submissive. But when Becca’s fear of not being perfect weaves its way into their lives, she sets out to be just that and unknowingly risks losing it all.

Now for a quick interview with Peyton herself. Thank you Peyton for joining us today.

Do you have a specific writing style?

Yes, I would say I do.  I don’t plot.  I start from the first word and go straight through until I write “The End”.  I’m very methodical in when my characters should have a voice and when they shouldn’t.

How did you come up with the title?

A lot of times, I already have a title based on the heroine before I even start writing.  For those times that I don’t, it will come to me the more I get to know her.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Since all of my books end with an HEA, I hope that readers take with them that no matter what obstacles may stand in their way, things work out in the end.

How do you come up with such Alpha male characters?

Since I write ménage, one of the males will usually be very Alpha, whereas the other will be a more tender.  That’s not to say my Alpha male won’t have an affectionate side, just that it’s harder for him to show it.  The Alpha male is easy to imagine since my future husband was in the Marines for twenty-three years!

Do you have any writing rituals that you do while writing?

I have to have my coffee to start me off!

What types of books do you enjoy reading in your free time or what do you like to do with your free time?

I’m an avid reader.  I like a variety of genres, but of course my favorite is erotic romance.

Favorite type of music to have playing while writing?

I rarely listen to music while I write, as it tends to influence the way I’m writing.  I can tell you that my favorite type of music is Country.

Does your family read your books?

Oh, yes!  My grandparents were fanatical readers.  My mother took after them, and so on.  And I passionately believe that to be a good writer, you have to be a zealous reader.

Thanks again for talking with us!

Bio:

To me, reading is an escape from reality.  We all have those times when reality becomes too much and we need something to lighten our hearts.  Reading has always given me that, but recently, I was lucky enough to meet a man who was able to do that for me in a different way.  He's shown me that reality can be just as much fun as fiction.  As a mother, it's important to me to show my son that life is full of surprises and that we must cherish every day we are given.  Here's to lightening our hearts!

  3. Peyton, I understand what you mean by not plotting. While I have an idea in my head of where I want to end up, I don't lock myself in to a strictly outlined plot. It's led me to some very interesting scenes! I will check out your book.

And Kallypso, thank you for doing this. I used to do just hit or miss on my choice of Kindle fodder (Kindling?) but now, I'm sure I'll run into a lot more stories worth reading!

  4. This looks interesting. I do like a bit of menage with my BDSM, but like Kinbaku above it's been kind of hit or miss for me finding new authors. Since this one's being suggested by an author I love, I'll definitely give this one a try!
