Kally's News and the Perfect Announcement

It's been nearly a month since I've posted a blog here. Yikes! I have been working, really I have! As you'll see below, I've been guest blogging a couple times; attended the Authors After Dark conference in New Orleans last week, where I got to meet lots of readers and erotic romance authors; and have been working on revising Nobody's Perfect based on input from my beta readers and editors. Here's some news that might interest you!

Kentucky Indie Writers on Edin Road Radio

I and my fellow Kentucky Indie Writers (KIW) members will be the August guests at Edin Road Radio. Listen to the great interviews here. And, if you can tune in live at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Thursday, Aug. 16, you'll hear me live. I'll be reading from the beginning of Section Two of Masters at Arms, and possibly the edited Prologue of Nobody's Perfect, if time permits. 

Nobody's Perfect Release Date Set!!! 

Great news! After conferring with my editorial staff and publicity team, the release day has been set for Sept. 14!!! The release-day party will take place on Facebook (lots of fun and prizes all day long with some of my favorite BDSM authors joining in with giveaways, too!), followed Sept. 17-21 with a Perfect Release Blog Tour and lots more great giveaways (including daily Gift Card prizes and a $200 GC at an online bookseller of your choice). 

In the editing phase, I realized something that will be announced in my newsletter the week of Aug. 27. Be sure you've signed up at the newsletter link (above right or in the blog message below) so you won't miss the announcement!

Master Adam is the Ultimate Dom of 2012

Wow! What competition! Masters Logan and Marcus gave him quite a run, and each man was on top for some portion of the contest, but congratulations to Master Adam Montague for this amazing victory, less than a year after he'd first been introduced to the world of BDSM romance reads. I would like to thank all my readers and fans for voting, even if you voted for one of the other two awesome Doms in the contest (and I know it was hard to choose for many of you). There were more than 11,000 votes cast before it was over! Of course, Master Adam will always be "my" ultimate Dom, but I'm happy  to share him with you all for the coming year!

Six Sunday: What's a Slave to Do? (Nobody's Hero)

Welcome back for another fun Six Sunday with Adam and Karla from Nobody's Hero, the third book in the Rescue Me series. Of course, Karla and Adam have significant story plots in all three books in the series to date, spanning the nine years of their journey toward romance. You need to read the series right from the beginning so you don't miss any of their story.

In this scene, Karla has joined "Master" Adam in his shower, trying to find ways to please him as she attempts to figure out just what a slave is supposed to do. Of course, he doesn't want a slave and his rational mind wants nothing to do with Karla. He just can't convince his body--or Karla--of that. We're in Adam's head.

Six Sunday: The power of three (Nobody's Hero)

My Six this week take place a little later in the long excerpt posted in the Naughty After Dark blog hop earlier this week. Okay, poor tortured Karla would say this comes *snicker* a LOT later in the scene. It's from Nobody's Hero (#3 in the RESCUE ME series, released 12/31/11).

Hope you enjoy it as much as Karla did! It took a lot to get her to this third one in her punishment, but when she got there, well, briefly, she was one very satisfied sub. Then all hell broke loose (again).

Six Sunday: Master Adam lays down the ground rules

This week, I'm going back into Nobody's Hero (#3 in the RESCUE ME series, released 12/31/11) for the scene where Master Adam tries to send Karla running away when he spells out what he wants from her as his slave. As with most of his maneuvers to distance himself from her, this one backfires big-time. 

We're in Karla's perspective:

“Your body will be my sexual toy to do with as I wish. When you disobey, you will be punished. I will let you express your hard limits and, if I am in the right mood, won’t exceed them—right away. But, as your Master, it will be my pleasure to push your limits fast, hard, and often.” 

Back up. What did Adam mean by punished?

Six Sunday: "...I hate you!!!"

 

This week, I thought I'd post a Six Sentence Sunday blog from a scene in Chapter Seven of Nobody's Hero where Adam has just returned from Damian's apartment, where the younger man has been fighting his PTSD demons again, only to hear Karla screaming “I hate you for dying on me, Ian!..." Ian is her big brother who was killed in a motorcycle accident earlier that year. The scene continues:

"...I hate you!!!”

Karla? His heart pounded against his chest. Was she in the throes of her own nightmare? It sounded like she was up on the deck. He looked up in time to see a tiny projectile spinning end over end until it banged against his chest and bounced off.

Six Sunday--Adam: "I've got you." (Nobody's Hero)

If you just want my Six--please skip down to the blue words!

This may get me disconnected from the Six Sunday blog site, but since this will be my only chance to blog for another week probably, I just want to thank everyone who has prayed, sent good wishes and positive energy, lit a candle, and virtually held my hand and heart through the last few days on Facebook as my sister has undergone surgery to remove the cancer from several places in her body. She's such a fighter and we're now on day 3 from surgery day and things look so much better than they did the last two.

Because I have hospitals on my mind, I thought I'd post a Six Sentence Sunday blog from a hospital scene in Nobody's Hero (released Dec. 31). 

SSS SETUP: In this scene, Adam has come to get Karla in the ER. Adam is holding her in his arms on his lap and, finally, she's able to let herself relax enough for the pain pill to work. There's a whole lot going on here, but I'm not going to spoil the story by telling you all that. We're in Karla's point of view and Adam speaks first after telling her to just rest now:

"I have you.”

“But I don’t have you, do I?” she whispered. Adam’s body grew tense. A tear trickled from the corner of her eye. She’d disobeyed him. How would he ever be able to love her if she couldn’t respect him enough to obey a simple command?
